Hailing from Birmingham, Ben Hanlin has been performing on stages for over twenty years.
After quitting his “proper job” in 2009 to pursue a career as a full-time magician, he launched a YouTube channel where he famously “stalked celebrities” (in a nice way) to surprise them with magic. His favourite adventure is still the time he flew to L.A. to find Britney Spears.
This led to a number of opportunities as a TV magician and presenter - first on CBBC, then Discovery Channel’s Breaking Magic, and his own ITV2 show, Tricked, which won “Best Entertainment Show” at the Broadcast Digital Awards.
For over a decade, Ben has performed his funny, interactive magic on TV shows around the world, hosted radio shows, and entertained at large global corporate events.
As a live performer, one of his proudest achievements is appearing in London’s West End in The Illusionists and ITV’s Live at The Palladium. His one-man shows also received five-star reviews at the Edinburgh Fringe Festival in 2016 and 2018, with Theatre Weekly naming it “The Best Variety Show of The Fringe” (2018).
In recent years, Ben has refocused his energy on social media. His magic has now been watched by billions globally, gaining him over 2 million followers online.
In 2025, Ben launched his podcast What’s The Trick, exploring how creative people think, create, and turn ideas into reality. Guests so far have included Matt Edmondson, Dom Joly & Simon Brodkin.
Ben still loves performing on TV, online, or live on stage - and can regularly be seen entertaining corporate audiences all over the world.
But more importantly than all of that, when he’s not working (if you can call it “work”), he’s spending time with his amazing wife, Briony, and their two young kids.
